In a small country such as country, 땅 (land) is of great importance. I have noticed that real estate offices in Seoul rarely advertise 땅 for sale, since there is probably little available, but outside of Seoul, the word 땅 is ubiquitous in the windows of real estate offices. 토지 (土地) is another word that means land.
The poster below states that Dokdo (the disputed territory between Japan and Korea) belongs to Korea. It says “Dokdo is our land (우리땅).”
